Pan American built one of the better quality, wood-rib-framed trailer coaches, which is evident in not only the beautiful figuring of the top grade quality birch plywood that was used in the interior, (even though the photos make it appear in a little better condition than it really is), but also in the extra touches that can be seen throughout the trailer in things like the trim around the two pocket doors, as well as those cool little, Streamline Style, speed lines located above them, not to mention the matching vent holes for the closets, cupboards and cabinets. Other special touches include those two, curved, panels in the ceiling, along both sides of the living room that hide recessed fluorescent lighting, as well as the raised roof in the living room that extends the ceiling height to 7'2". Unfortunately, there are three places where that roof has leaked pretty badly and they will need some repairs, including the cupboards on both sides of the kitchen and underneath the rear window in the bedroom. However, I have another one of these coaches that I'm parting out and it has some of these pieces, as well as the windows that have been changed out on both sides for more modern ones, and those parts could be made available at additional cost. Other than that, the interior is pretty nice, with solid floors and a newer, 30 gal., propane water heater in one of the closets. However, someone has removed the remaining original light fixtures, the original stove has been replaced and there's a birch panel which is missing from the exterior shower wall, forward of the bedroom in the hallway. As far as the mechanical condition is concerned, I towed this old girl about 160 miles with no problems, though, the tires do need to be replaced and the wheel bearings should be gone through as well. And, even though her skin is super straight, her paint is peeling off, so she would also need to be repainted too. But, imagine what this coach would look like redone in a colorful, fifties two-tone, with the wheels painted one of the same colors and four wide white wall tires!
