1955 TERRY - MODEL 18

$15,000.00

- SOLD -

This eighteen foot, 1955 Terry Model 18 is an actual barn find, i.e., it was used for one or two seasons in the mid-fifties and then literably put away in a barn and never used again. The person who found it before me, unfortunately, then kept it outside for a couple of years uncovered, and since he lived in Santa Cruz near the ocean the elements got to the paint, as you can see in the photos below. However, the exterior skin itself is still in good, mostly undented shape and the interior is simply amazing as it's hardly ever been used. Besides having a full bathroom, including a shower, one of the other things that is so cool about this Eames Era style trailer is its interior layout....with 95% of the windows on the curb side. They're big too, and sitting in the oversized, pullman style dinette with its original, brick-red, "genuine leatherette" upholstery, would almost be like you were
eating at a little 1950s diner. Everything works in this coach, as far as the electrical, mechanical and propane systems
go....in fact the stove and fridge look like they've almost never been used. About the only thing this amazingly well kept
piece of history needs is a new paint job, wide-white wall tires, the original wheels sandblasted and powder coat painted
and the original chrome baby moon hubcaps polished up and she'd be ready to be back on the road. And wouldn't
she look good trailing along behind some cool, big-finned, mid-fifies station wagon or something similar?
